Kronshstadt lies on an island outside Saint Petersburg and used to be the home of the Russian Baltic Fleet, from the days of Peter the Great to the Soviet Union. We didn’t stop there, but as our ship passed the area, we could only marvel at the state of disrepair the place was in.
